How To - Mushroom Heater

+ Safety Warnings

  • Use only with L.P. Gas
  • When operating, ensure the appliance is located on a level surface
  • Do not spray aerosols in the vicinity of this heater when it is operating
  • Do not use this heater where petroleum products or other flammable liquids or vapours are stored or used.
  • Do not operate this heater unless at maximum height.
  • If the heater fails to operate correctly, contact place of hire or their authorised agent for advice and service. DO NOT ATTEMPT REPAIRS YOURSELF.
  • The following minimum clearances to combustible materials must be observed:
  • Minimum clearance from heater to any walls: 600mm
  • Minimum clearance from heater to ceiling: 1.2 metres
  • Minimum clearance to shade cloth or similar material: 2.5 metres

+ Lighting the burner

  1. Before lighting the burner ensure appliance is on a firm surface.
  2. Life the tank housing.
  3. Make sure the regulator hose is connected to the LP Gas Cylinder and the connection is tight. This is a left-hand thread and turns counter-clockwise to tighten.
  4. Turn on the LP Gas Cylinder valve in a counter-clockwise direction. Check for leaks by applying soapy water to LP Gas connections.
  5. Press and turn the control knob to HI position.
  6. Hold down the control knob for 5 to 10 seconds.
  7. While holding control knob, press direct ignition button several ties until burner head flame ignites. Release control knob 10 seconds after ignition.
  8. Turn the control knob to LO position for 5 minutes before changing desired temperature level.
  9. Lower tank housing.
  10. If the burner flame extinguishes accidentally, turn the control knob to OFF position.

+ Re-lighting the burner

  1. Repeat steps 5 to 9 in lighting instructions.

+ Shutting down the Burner

  1. Turn control knob to OFF position.
  2. Turn LP Gas cylinder valve clockwise to the OFF position when heater is not in use.

Do not touch hot surfaces and allow heater to cool before cleaning (if required).

WARNING

After turning the heater off, you must wait 5 minutes or more to let excess gas dissipate before lighting again. Failure to do so may result in a gas explosion and cause serious injury, property damage or even death.
